Karnataka: BJP MLC Booked Over Questioning Education Levels Of “Mullah”
“I would like you (gathering) to ask how a Mullah is connected to the NEET examination question paper": Bharatiya Janata Party MLC and former minister C.T. Ravi
BENGALURU: Bharatiya Janata Party MLC and former minister C.T. Ravi has been booked by police over his reported hate speech at a public programme in Chikkamagaluru town a couple of days where he allegedly targeted Muslim community questioning education levels of Mullah (Islamic religious leader) who protested against NEET examination question paper leak.
The First Information Report against Ravi was registered in Chikkamagaluru Town police on Friday evening while Ravi is said to have raised the education levels of Mullah on July 23 at Azad Park in Chikkamagaluru.
Delivering a speech, Ravi stated “I would like you (gathering) to ask how a Mullah is connected to the NEET examination question paper. If his chest is torn open, not even 3 letters emerge and he comes to protest against the NEET examination question paper leak and he demands the resignation of Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan.?”
“The Mullah demands Modi (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) hatao (ouster from the post of Prime Minister,” Ravi said and reiterated “You know 3 letters and you speak on NEET.” The FIR against C.T. Ravi was over a complaint by a person on July 24 over the reported hate speech. The complainant alleged Ravi made the comments which are derogatory, hurt religious sentiments and intended to stir communal harmony.
