Bengaluru Police Commissioner Suspends 3 Inspectors Over Drug Lab Lapse
The disciplinary action against the 3 police inspectors has been initiated following the drug bust of 4.2 kilograms of Mephedrone at a house in Yerappanahalli under Avalahalli police station limits
BENGALURU: Police Inspectors attached to Kothanur, Avalahalli and Bagalur police stations in Bengaluru city limits were placed under suspension by Bengaluru city Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh on Monday on charge of negligence over their failure to detect drug manufacturing units under their respective police station limits.
The disciplinary action against the 3 police inspectors has been initiated following sleuths of Bengaluru City police, along with Maharashtra Anti-Narcotics Task Force, with support from Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), seized 4.2 kilograms of Mephedrone at a house in Yerappanahalli under Avalahalli police station limits.
Besides, 17 kilograms of raw materials in liquid form and other chemicals stocked for preparation, along with barrels, mixers and other equipment, were seized. The sleuths seized a mixer at N.G. Halli under the Kothanur police station limits.
Police arrested Suresh Yadav at Katkanhali under Yelahanka Police station limits and another Malkhan Ramlal Bishnoi at Kannur under Bagalur police station limits. In another seizure by the sleuths, the release said, raw materials stocked at a carpenter’s shed were also seized at Kannur under the Bagalur police station limits.
The seizures were made by joint operation of Bengaluru City police and Maharashtra’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force on December 24 and 25 at various locations in Bengaluru city. The seizures were conducted based on a tip-off from an arrested Abdul Khader on December 21 in Mumbai of Maharashtra. Later, Prashanth Patil, a resident of Belagav,i was arrested and led the sleuths to Bengaluru city to conduct seizures at multiple locations.
