KAKINADA: The YSRC would fight against privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant and “ failures” of the alliance government in the state by involving other parties, YSRC leader and MLC Botsa Satyanarayana has said.

Speaking to the media in Rajamahendravaram on Thursday, he said the central government was taking the VSP privatization process forward. The alliance government including the deputy CM Pawan Kalyan who had espoused the steel plant cause earlier has not taken any steps to stop the privatization, he said.

The YSRC leader said that PM Modi, who visited Visakhapatnam on the International Yoga Day, did not do any favour to either Visakhapatnam region or the state.

“Many people sacrificed their lives and farmers gave up their lands for the steel plant. The YSRC would seek to protect it. During the election campaign, party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy told the people that every vote they cast for the TD-led alliance would end up as a vote for privatization of Visakha Steel Plant,” he said.

He said the alliance government avoided making the Rythu Bharosa payments to the farmers as also the Thalliki Vandanam scheme amounts for the past one year. “This government did not credit the

Annadata Sukhibhava and Thalliki Vandanam amounts to nearly 9 lakhs beneficiaries each.

Satyanarayana also said the state government has not released the NREGA amounts for filling up potholes so far.

The former MP M Bharat, YSRC leader Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi and others were present.
