They alleged repeated security lapses despite Jagan Mohan Reddy being provided Z+ security, referring to his recent visit to Devarapalli in East Godavari district to meet distressed tobacco farmers.
Vijayawada:A delegation of YSRC MPs met Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday and sought the Centre's intervention over alleged security lapses concerning former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process, the law and order situation, and what they described as obstruction of industrial operations in Andhra Pradesh.
The delegation comprised Y.V. Subba Reddy, P.V. Midhun Reddy, Gumma Thanuja, M. Gurumoorthy and Golla Baburao.
The MPs submitted a representation outlining what they described as the prevailing situation in the state and urged the Union Home Minister to safeguard democratic rights, public safety, the rule of law and the investment climate.
They alleged repeated security lapses despite Jagan Mohan Reddy being provided Z+ security, referring to his recent visit to Devarapalli in East Godavari district to meet distressed tobacco farmers.
The delegation also alleged misuse of the police machinery against YSRC leaders, citing the arrest of former minister Seediri Appalaraju and the midnight arrest of Alur MLA Virupakshi.
The MPs sought enhanced security for Jagan Mohan Reddy, an impartial inquiry into the DSC-2025 recruitment process and accountability in cases of alleged custodial deaths.
