Kakinada:Anaparthi MLA and BJP state convener for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, on Tuesday alleged that the YSR Congress (YSRC) may eventually merge with the Congress, similar to several regional parties that were formed after breaking away from the national party.

Addressing reporters, Ramakrishna Reddy launched a sharp attack on YSRC president and former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, claiming that people had decisively rejected the party in the 2024 Assembly elections and would do so again in 2029. Referring to recent political remarks, he said the NDA alliance was prepared to counter the YSRC politically in future elections as well.

The BJP leader said people had experienced hardships during the YSRCP regime and were unlikely to support the party again.

Speaking on Godavari Pushkaralu 2027, he said the state government was committed to ensuring pollution-free canals and river stretches in the Godavari region. He credited Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan for taking initiatives towards cleaning water bodies ahead of the festival.

Ramakrishna Reddy also highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, citing welfare schemes, housing programmes, LPG connections, support to farmers and healthcare initiatives. Several BJP leaders were present at the press conference.
