Yoga Vital for Fitness, Mental Peace: SPF Chief

The SPF chief said yoga creates greater health awareness and supports the government’s vision of building a “Fit Andhra Pradesh”

VIJAYAWADA: Yoga promotes physical fitness, mental peace and a healthy lifestyle, director general of the State Special Protection Force (SPF) Dr C.M. Trivikram Varma said while urging people, particularly police personnel, to make yoga a part of their daily routine.

Addressing the “Yogandhra” programme organised by the State SPF police wing at Dr Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Station (Dr NTTPS) in Ibrahimpatnam on Wednesday, Dr Trivikram Varma said yoga helps police personnel cope with physical and mental stress while improving health, discipline and mental resilience.

The SPF chief said yoga creates greater health awareness and supports the government’s vision of building a “Fit Andhra Pradesh.” He described yoga as a strong foundation for overall well-being and an effective remedy for the pressures of modern life.

More than 350 SPF personnel and others participated in the programme, performing yoga asanas and pranayama exercises under expert guidance.

The event was organised under the leadership of SPF Zonal Commandant Muddada Sankara Rao and Dr NTTPS Assistant Commandant T. Krishnamachari. inspector general B.V. Rami Reddy, chief engineer Siva Ramanjaneyulu, chief security officer P.V.S.N. Mallikarjuna Rao and other officials were present.
