VPA Chief Inaugurates Several Projects In Port

VISAKHAPATNAM: Chairperson of Visakhapatnam Port Authority Dr M. Angamuthu on Monday inaugurated several major infrastructure and development projects and laid foundation stones for new initiatives.
The projects inaugurated include development of public promenade, port operation system, 38 TKM electrification of railway tracks, display corridor in administrative office building, 170 KW rooftop solar at STP, upgradation of existing MCHV railway track, repairs to the pockets along the SL Canal Jetty, improvement of railway tracks with rectification of sharp curves, and construction of customs boundary wall.
Foundation stones were also laid for important security and infrastructure enhancement projects including installation of under vehicle scanning systems at all gates, radiological detection equipment at cargo gates, regrading of BT road surface from Convent Junction Arch to H-7 Junction, and regrading of roads inside OHC.
