Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) chairperson M.V. Pranav Gopal has announced new endeavours to underscore the historical significance and cultural richness of the Telugu language. This initiative is designed to promote Telugu’s heritage and enhance the understanding of Telugu cultural traditions among students.

The Telugu Samskruthika Niketanam, established by the VMRDA at Kailasagiri with the support of the World Telugu Federation, has reduced entry fees specifically for school students. The standard entry fee for the 40-minute light and music show, which aims to highlight the diminishing aspects of Telugu culture, is set at Rs 60. However, a special concession allows all school, college and university students to access this immersive experience for a reduced price of Rs 40.

Officials have encouraged government and private educational institutions to capitalise on this opportunity, emphasising the importance of collaboration with the district education officer to ensure extensive participation. Furthermore, the initiative extends discounts across all museums managed by VMRDA. Under Package-1, access to the Kursura, TU-142, Sea Harrier and Telugu Museums is available for Rs 100. Package 2 offers entry to the Kursura, TU-142 and Sea Harrier Museums for Rs 60 while Package 3 includes the Telugu Museum and Toy Train ride for a fee of Rs 100.

VMRDA commissioner K.S. Vishwanathan was also present.
