VMC Holds Public Toilet Awareness Programme For Students
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation conducted a sanitation awareness programme for school students under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign.
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) organised an awareness programme for school students on the proper use and cleanliness of public toilets as part of the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign on Tuesday.
The programme was held at the Pink Toilet near Benz Circle under the supervision of VMC chief medical health officer Dr Nirmala Glory.
Students were briefed on the facilities available in public and community toilets and told that maintaining hygiene was a shared responsibility. They were advised to dispose of waste only in designated bins and avoid littering the surroundings after use.
Officials stressed the importance of clean toilet practices for personal and public health and urged students to spread awareness about sanitation among their families, friends and neighbourhoods.
The VMC said it had been conducting regular awareness programmes under Swachhta Hi Seva to encourage citizens to take greater responsibility for hygiene and sanitation.
