Vizag School Lodges FIR Alleging Harassment, Blackmail By Three
According to the FIR registered on July 14 at Muvvalavanipalem police station, K. Sai Chandrika, secretary and correspondent of the school, alleged that a Class X student had created fake Instagram accounts with the help of a friend and posted abusive content targeting fellow students and staff.
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam police have registered a case against three persons, including two representatives of BRK Media, following a complaint by Santhi Nikethan School alleging harassment, intimidation and blackmail.
According to the FIR registered on July 14 at Muvvalavanipalem police station, K. Sai Chandrika, secretary and correspondent of the school, alleged that a Class X student had created fake Instagram accounts with the help of a friend and posted abusive content targeting fellow students and staff. The school said it counselled the student, who later allegedly consumed tablets at home and underwent medical treatment.
In the complaint, it was alleged that the student’s mother, Eegala Sridevi, along with BRK Media representatives identified as Sai and Eswara Chowdhary, later threatened and put pressure on the school management. It further alleged that they demanded money and circulated a video accusing the school of withholding the student’s transfer certificate, although the certificate had been issued in the presence of the mandal educational officer.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 308(3) and 351(2) read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act. Inspector Kavala Naga Satya Vara Prasad is investigating the case.
The school said it had submitted call recordings, CCTV footage and other digital evidence to the police and sought protection against further alleged harassment and appropriate legal action.
