VIJAYAWADA: The 31st edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry Partnership Summit will be held here on November 12 and 13 under the theme, 'Navigating change: leadership, technology, trust and trade in a transforming world'.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed preparations on Monday and directed officials to organise regional CII partnership summits at five locations as a prelude to the main event.
The summit, he said, should be different from previous editions and officials must make comprehensive arrangements, including the signing of MoUs, ministerial and plenary sessions, country sessions and business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings.
Naidu directed the officials to invite representatives of national and international companies, Union ministers and delegates from various countries. He also asked them to write to chief ministers of other states, informing them about the summit.
The chief minister called for extensive national and international publicity for the event and directed the officials to conduct road shows between July and September.
Officials informed the meeting that road shows are planned in Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad.
Naidu suggested organising regional partnership summits in Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram or Kakinada, Amaravati, Anantapur and Tirupati ahead of the main event. Officials must identify sectors for investment and MoUs during these regional summits.
The CM said the summit should focus not only on investment commitments but also on knowledge-sharing and discussions on innovative ideas for development. He stressed the need to highlight futuristic sectors and invite experts from leading universities.
Naidu said the proposed CII global leadership centre in Amaravati should become a platform for discussions on public policy, business and investment challenges. He also called for deliberations on agriculture, horticulture, natural farming, the circular economy, spirituality and stress-free work culture. Officials, he said, must organise the summit in a manner that encourages participation by youth and students, enabling them to contribute innovative ideas across various sectors.
