Visakhapatnam: Cloudy Skies, Moderate Showers Likely For Next 2 Days

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a weather alert, forecasting cloudy skies and moderate rainfall across parts of the state over the next two days.
APSDMA managing director Prakhar Jain said a trough extending from East Vidarbha and Telangana to South Coastal Andhra Pradesh was influencing weather conditions. Light to moderate rain is likely at isolated places in Coastal Andhra districts and in Chittoor and Tirupati on Thursday. Light rain accompanied by lightning may also occur in Bapatla, Kurnool, Nandyal, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, YSR Kadapa and Annamayya districts.
Heavy rainfall was recorded in several areas by Wednesday evening, including 96.7 mm in Vepada of Vizianagaram district, 72 mm in Devarapalli of Anakapalli, 69 mm in Bukkapatnam of Sri Sathya Sai district, and 66.5 mm in Narsipatnam.
The Amaravati Meteorological Centre has forecast further unsettled weather on Friday. North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are likely to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph.
Similar conditions are expected in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, while Rayalaseema may witness light to moderate rain or thundershowers with winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
