Vijayawada To Host Uro-Oncology Conference Featuring Robotic Surgeries
The conference, titled “Uro-Oncology Simplified – 2026,” is being organised by the Society of Genito Urinary Surgeons of Andhra Pradesh (SOGUS-AP) in association with the Vijayawada Association of Genito Urinary Surgeons.
VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada will host a state-level medical conference on June 14 focusing on advances in the treatment of urological cancers, with experts scheduled to discuss the latest developments in the management of prostate, kidney and bladder cancers.
The conference, titled “Uro-Oncology Simplified – 2026,” is being organised by the Society of Genito Urinary Surgeons of Andhra Pradesh (SOGUS-AP) in association with the Vijayawada Association of Genito Urinary Surgeons.
More than 200 urologists, surgeons, postgraduate students and young medical professionals from all 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh have registered for the event.
Organisers said the conference is the first mid-term academic meeting being conducted after the formation of SOGUS-AP. Details of the programme were announced at a press conference held at Prashanth Hospital.
Organising president Dr A.V. Krishna Kishore said Vijayawada has emerged as an important centre for academic activities in urology and has hosted several state and national-level conferences.
Scientific convener Dr P. Srimannarayana said the programme has been designed to provide practical insights into contemporary treatment approaches, complex surgical procedures and evidence-based clinical decision-making.
A key feature of the conference will be live transmission of Robotic Radical Prostatectomy and Robotic Partial Nephrectomy procedures, enabling participants to observe advanced surgical techniques in real time.
The programme will also include expert lectures, interactive sessions and case-based discussions on various aspects of uro-oncology.
