 Vijayawada: SRM University-AP, Amaravati, in association with the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE), on Saturday launched the UNITES Global Innovation Society to promote collaboration among scientists, academia, industry, government and young researchers on sustainable solutions.

The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research (CIDR) at SRM AP will be the founding and host institution of the society, which will focus on collaborative research, innovation and scientific exchange. Its guiding philosophy is “problems first, disciplines second”.

APSCHE chairman-in-Charge Prof. Sarangam Vijaya Bhaskara Rao stressed the need to strengthen links between scientific research, higher education and society. UNITES president Prof. Achanta Venu Gopal said multidisciplinary collaboration was needed to convert scientific capabilities into practical solutions.

SRM AP Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar said societal problems required solutions beyond traditional academic boundaries.

UNITES 2026 will be held at SRM AP from December 27 to 29 on “Physics at the Interfaces of Matter, Light and Life”. It will also feature the VIGYAN SETU national science and technology expo.
