Two Dead After RTC Bus, Bolero Collide in Nallamala Forest
Two people, identified as Nitin, a native of Gadwal district in Telangana, and Devendranath Goud of Kurnool, sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Atmakur: Two people died after an RTC bus - Bolero vehicle collision in the Nallamala forest area on the Birutla-Dornala route in Atmakur mandal on Monday night.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when a Raichur-Kakinada RTC bus was travelling through the Birutla forest area. At the same time, a Bolero vehicle carrying people who had earlier transported tomatoes from Gadwal to Guntur was returning towards Kurnool. While attempting to overtake a car in the Nallamala forest area, the Bolero collided with the RTC bus.
Two people, identified as Nitin, a native of Gadwal district in Telangana, and Devendranath Goud of Kurnool, sustained serious injuries in the accident. Nitin was shifted to Kurnool for treatment but died while undergoing treatment. Devendranath Goud died at the spot.
The injured RTC bus driver, Prakash, and another person, Prasad, were shifted to Atmakur Government Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident. Further details are awaited.
