YSRC Leader Alleges Ill-Treatment of Venkatagiri Royal Family During Poleramma Jatara

Nellore:YSRC Venkatagiri constituency coordinator Nedurumalli Ramkumar Reddy on Monday alleged that members of the Venkatagiri royal family were made to wait for darshan during the Poleramma Jatara as a minister was arriving. He demanded an apology from the State government.
Ramkumar Reddy said the royal family had a historical and traditional role in the Poleramma Jatara and that the Ankurarpana ceremony was conducted with its permission. He said asking members of the royal family to wait on the grounds that “the minister is coming” amounted to an insult to Venkatagiri’s traditions.

“Should the Poleramma Jatara, a people’s festival, also be given a political colour?” he asked.
