A massive crane lost its balance and toppled into an excavation pit while moving soil for a private hotel construction project.
Reports state that the three workers died on the spot after being trapped underneath the machinery, and two others sustained critical injuries.
Workers at the site immediately informed the police, who rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. Two persons who were severely injured were shifted to hospitals in Tirupati for treatment.
Meanwhile, police and concerned staff have taken up measures to remove the heavy crane. Officials are reportedly gathering details about the cause of the accident.
