Tirumala Navaratri Brahmotsavams From Oct. 12

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will conduct the annual Navaratri Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara from October 12 to 20, with a series of grand processions and special celebrations.

The festivities will feature the Garuda Vahanam on October 16, Pushpaka Vimanam on October 17, Golden Chariot on October 19 and Chakrasnanam on October 20, according to the TTD.

The Navaratri Brahmotsavams are conducted during the Dasara Navaratri period in years when an additional lunar month occurs. Unlike the annual Brahmotsavams, the Navaratri celebrations do not include Dhvajaarohanam, the big chariot procession or Dhvajavarohanam.

The celebrations will begin with Ankurarpanam on October 11 from 7 pm to 9 pm. Vehicle processions will generally be held from 8 am to 10 am in the morning and 7 pm to 9 pm in the evening. The Garuda Vahanam on October 16 will be held from 6.30 pm to 11.30 pm.

The TTD is expected to make arrangements for the large number of devotees likely to throng Tirumala during the nine-day festivities.

· Oct 14: Simha Vahanam; Muthyapu Pandiri Vahanam

· Oct 15: Kalpavriksha Vahanam; Sarvabhoopala Vahanam

· Oct 16: Mohini Avataram; Garuda Vahanam

· Oct 17: Hanumantha Vahanam; Pushpaka Vimanam; Gaja Vahanam

· Oct 18: Surya Prabha Vahanam; Chandra Prabha Vahanam

· Oct 19: Golden Chariot; Aswa Vahanam

· Oct 20: Chakrasnanam at 6 am.
