Three Persons Die As Lorry Collides With Auto In Prakasam District

Three persons died after the auto in which they were travelling collided with a lorry near Kamepalli in Santhamaaguluru in Prakasam district.

Around 10 people, belonging to Velpuru village in Saavalyapuram mandal, boarded an auto to Sankuratripadu in Nadendla mandal, to attend the last rites of one of their relatives.

As their auto reached Kamepalli railway underpass a granite-laden lorry, negotiating a curve, smashed into the vehicle killing Edukondalu, 60, Ramanamma, 50, on the spot. Seven others who suffered injuries were shifted to the nearby hospital. Subbayamma (70) died while undergoing treatment.

Police registered a case and began investigation.
