Tirumala: The annual Tumburu Theertha Mukkoti in Tirumala witnessed a strong turnout, with around 12,235 devotees taking a holy dip in the sacred waters this year.

With Pournami spanning March 31 and April 1, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams permitted access to the Theertham on both days. Located deep within the Seshachala Hills, pilgrims undertook a trek through forested terrain to reach the site.

TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary oversaw arrangements, ensuring continuous supply of food and beverages by Srivari Sevaks. Facilities such as sheds, ladders and drinking water points were set up along the route for the convenience of devotees.

As a precaution, children below 12 years and individuals with chronic ailments were restricted from undertaking the trek. Transport was regulated, with APSRTC buses allowed only up to Papavinasanam due to limited parking.

Medical teams, ambulances and paramedical staff were deployed, while sanitation and security were jointly managed by TTD vigilance, police and forest department personnel to ensure a smooth and safe festival.
