Andhra MPs discuss House procedures, state development and ways to raise public issues

Vijayawada: Three newly elected Telugu Desam (TD) MPs — Sana Satish, Bhashyam Ramakrishna and Chintakayala Vijay — called on Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan, Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh and Union minister of state for information and broadcasting and parliamentary affairs Dr L. Murugan during a break in the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament in New Delhi on Thursday.

During the courtesy meetings, the MPs discussed the conduct of the current Parliament session, key issues expected to be taken up in the Rajya Sabha and various parliamentary procedures.

The MPs also met the Rajya Sabha deputy chairman separately and sought guidance on parliamentary practices, legislative procedures and effective participation in House proceedings. The discussion also covered the rules and conventions governing the raising of public issues in Parliament.

The leaders also discussed matters relating to Andhra Pradesh’s development and explored ways to effectively present issues concerning the state’s interests during the ongoing Parliament session.
