Vijayawada:The ruling Telugu Desam (TD) has lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission (SEC) alleging violence, intimidation, and electoral malpractices by YSRC leaders during the ZPTC and MPTC elections in several constituencies.

A TD delegation comprising Guntur East MLA Mohammed Naseer Ahmed, Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi, and AP Brahmin Corporation chairman Buchi Ram Prasad met SEC secretary A. Mallikarjuna and IG Rajakumari. They submitted a complaint to them, along with video recordings of violence, in a pen drive.

The TD allegations relate to the polling areas in Santanutalapadu, Sattenapalli, Chirala, Chandragiri and Pulivendula.

Naseer Ahmed alleged that former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, accompanied by 40 to 50 supporters, barged into a polling station at Mangal in Chandragiri and obstructed polling despite police intervention. He further alleged attacks and intimidation in Kandulavari Agraharam and Bandlamudi in Santanutalapadu.

The Guntur East MLA accused YSRC leaders of attempting to disrupt polling out of fear of defeat. He asked YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy why he did not vote in his own ward.

Naseer Ahmed charged that the former chief minister had arrived from Bengaluru only to disturb the elections in Pulivendula.

Galla Madhavi charged YSRC leaders with intimidating voters and preventing them from reaching polling stations, so that voter turnout could be reduced. She accused YSRC leaders of attacking TD workers and violating campaign rules in Chirala, Sattenapalli, and Pulivendula.

The TD delegation asked the SEC to detain those responsible for disturbances, take stringent action against them, and ensure peaceful polling without intimidation.
