Anantapur:A tense situation prevailed at the KSR Government College in Anantapur on Friday when students’ unions tried to disrupt the Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) at the college in protest against the lathi-charge on students in Delhi over the NEET paper leakage issue.

The protesting students had called for a bandh of all educational institutions across the nation on Friday. In this regard, students led by AISF, SFI and other organisations took out a protest rally in Anantapur.

When the protesters raising slogans reached the KSR Government college at the Sapthagiri circle, the meeting of parents, teachers, and students had been going on at the college premises.

Those taking out the procession tried to enter the college but police forces prevented them from doing so. The students then sat on a dharna on the road before the college demanding the resignation of the Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him responsible for leakage of the NEET paper.

Though police tried to clear the protestors from the road, the students remained adamant. Police then forcibly shifted them from the spot.
