Srinivas Distributes Pattadar Passbooks to 1,166 Farmers in Vizianagaram

Visakhapatnam: Minister for MSME, rural poverty alleviation and diaspora empowerment Kondapalli Srinivas said the NDA coalition government was combining welfare and development with transparent land records.

He made the remarks in Vizianagaram district while inaugurating an Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water plant and distributing pattadar passbooks to 1,166 farmers.

The `10-lakh worth plant, established by Union Bank of India under its corporate social responsibility initiative, was opened at M. Kothavalasa in Gajapathinagaram mandal. Srinivas said purified water was essential for good health. He added that an electric vehicle would deliver RO water to rural residents at affordable rates.

Later, at Mucherla village, Srinivas handed over pattadar passbooks and reviewed the functioning of government departments with officials.

He said the government had accelerated welfare and development programmes, citing enhanced pensions, Talliki Vandanam for students, `20,000 assistance for farmers under Annadata Sukhibhava, free bus travel for women through Stree Shakti and three free LPG cylinders annually under Deepam.

He said the government aimed to create 20 lakh employment opportunities and encourage industries in north Andhra to curb migration.

Criticising the previous YSRC government, Srinivas alleged that its land-record measures had inconvenienced farmers. He said the coalition government had conducted a re-survey and was issuing passbooks in farmers’ names with seals.

He welcomed Andhra Pradesh’s fifth-place national ranking under panchayat raj minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

TD politburo member Gantiada Sridevi, Agricultural Market Committee (AMC) chairman P.V.V. Gopalaraju, Eastern Kapu Sangham director G. Govinda, TD leaders Makkuva Sridhar, Lenka Bangaru Naidu and Lenka Chinnam Naidu, along with officials and villagers, attended.
