Govt Committed to Provide Healthcare Support to Patients With Cardiovascular Diseases
Yadav said that at present, eight cab labs were functioning in government teaching hospitals in the state.
Vijayawada:Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav has said that the state government is committed to provide all requisite healthcare support to those having cardiovascular diseases.
The minister announced here on Monday that a new cath lab under public-private-partnership would be functional at the government hospital in Kakinada from Oct. 1 while three more such labs will be coming up in government teaching hospitals in Tirupati, Nellore and Srikakulam at an estimated cost of Rs 18 crore.
Yadav said that at present, eight cab labs were functioning in government teaching hospitals in the state. Of them, five were being operated directly by the state government while the remaining were under PPP mode.
The minister also announced that the state government would commence open-heart surgeries in Anantapur so that people from the Rayalaseema region need not travel to far off places for cardiac surgeries.
Yadav said that as many as 4.48 lakh people received cardiac care in the state in the last two years through 10 heart centers in the state. Of them, 27,024 patients were admitted in hospitals for treatment, he said, and observed that 4,724 angioplasties, 14,320 angiograms, 359 bypass surgeries and 111 heart-valve replacemen procedures, in addition to cardiac surgeries, were performed.
