SIT To Probe Suspicious Death of Chanti

Visakhapatnam: A six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) will probe the suspicious death of Myapalli Chanti, whose body was found near Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour on September 7.
The SIT, headed by Gajuwaka traffic inspector Sheikh Hussain, will examine all possible angles and submit a report to the Commissioner of Police.
“We have to find whether it was a homicide, suicide or an accident before coming to a conclusion,” Hussain said.
Chanti was found with a fishing net rope around his neck and injuries on his head and other parts of the body. The findings of the Clues Team, forensic examination and postmortem report are expected to help establish the circumstances of his death.
Hussain said Chanti had gone to his elder sister Appalakonda’s house the previous day and told her that his life was under threat. She advised him to stay at her house for the night, but he left at around 9.30 pm. She said he had received some phone calls before leaving.
