Kakinada: The state aqua farmers association has called upon shrimp farmers to suspend shrimp harvesting on June 30 in protest against the increase in aqua feed prices.
The association has also announced that aqua feed shops across the state will remain closed on the day as part of the protest.
Aqua farmers have expressed concern over the rising prices of feed and seed. They also alleged that traders had formed syndicates to suppress shrimp prices, adversely affecting farmers' incomes.
The association urged shrimp farmers to participate in the protest to press for measures to regulate input costs and ensure remunerative prices for their produce.
