Show-Cause Notices For Absentee Polling Officials In Nellore
308 of 4,497 polling personnel missed election training, prompting the district collector to seek explanations ahead of ZPTC and MPTC polls.
District collector and district election officer Himanshu Shukla has announced that show-cause notices will be issued to polling personnel who remained absent from training sessions for the upcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections.
Of the 4,497 presiding officers (POs) and assistant presiding officers (APOs) appointed for 1,665 polling stations across the district, 308 were absent from the training programmes held at the district headquarters and mandal levels on Thursday.
The collector said officials with other assigned duties or health issues could seek exemption by submitting the relevant details at the distribution centre, but skipping training without proper procedure was unacceptable.
Those receiving show-cause notices must personally meet the district collector and district election officer and submit explanations for their absence. He directed all election personnel to strictly follow Election Commission guidelines and discharge their duties responsibly.
