Sanskrit Scholars’ Conclave To Chart Roadmap for Language Promotion
Telugu and Sanskrit Academy to chart roadmap for expanding Sanskrit across Andhra Pradesh.
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Telugu and Sanskrit Academy will organise a conclave of Sanskrit scholars and intellectuals at Vaddeswaram near Vijayawada on Monday to discuss measures for the promotion and wider propagation of the Sanskrit language.
Announcing the programme on Sunday, academy chairman R.D. Wilson alias Sharath Chandra said the conclave would bring together eminent Sanskrit scholars and intellectuals to formulate a comprehensive action plan for expanding the reach of the classical language across the state.
The meeting is part of the ongoing Sanskrit Saptaham (Sanskrit Week) celebrations being organised in different towns to popularise the language. Deliberations will focus on practical initiatives to encourage greater public participation, strengthen Sanskrit learning and enhance the language's visibility among people from all walks of life.
Wilson said the Academy has adopted the slogan, “Sanskrit for Everyone... Sanskrit to Every Household,” and is preparing a structured roadmap to make Sanskrit more accessible to the public instead of limiting it to academic circles.
As part of its outreach initiatives, the Academy has already published a series of books under the title Paatita Sanskritam to promote Sanskrit learning. He said the publication programme would continue as part of sustained efforts to encourage interest in the language.
Reiterating the Academy's commitment, Wilson said its primary objective is to popularise Sanskrit through educational and awareness programmes while preserving and promoting its rich linguistic and cultural heritage for future generations.
