Andhra Pradesh: Heat Wave Conditions To Continue For Next Days In AP

While coastal Andhra Pradesh remains under a heat wave warning, Rayalaseema is expected to experience hot weather along with thunderstorms and gusty winds: Reports

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati, has forecast that heat wave conditions will continue at isolated places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam for the next two days as part of a three-day spell expected to last until July 14.

On Sunday, Narsapur recorded the sharpest rise in temperature for the second consecutive day, with the maximum reaching 39.2°C, which was 6.3°C above normal. Jangamaheswarapuram registered 40.05°C, up by 5.3°C, while Bapatla recorded 40.02°C, 5.03°C above normal. Visakhapatnam witnessed its highest maximum temperature of the season at 38.8°C, about 5°C above normal.
The IMD has warned that heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places in Bapatla, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, Guntur, Krishna, NTR, Palnadu and West Godavari districts over the next 24 hours.
Along with the heat wave, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds are likely at isolated places across coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Coastal districts are also expected to experience hot and humid weather. While coastal Andhra remains under a heat wave warning, Rayalaseema is likely to witness hot weather interspersed with thunderstorms and gusty winds, the IMD said.
