Sanjeevani Digital Health System To Be Launched on August 15: AP CM
Three regions will be formed for speeding up development
Kakinada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday announced that the state government would launch the Sanjeevani digital health system on August 15 as part of a proposed Universal Health Policy.
The policy, he said, would be aimed at improving healthcare access for the common man and reducing the ordinary people’s financial burden vis-a-vis medical treatment.
Addressing the ‘Praja Sevalo Prajavedika’ programme at Chamavaram village in Tuni mandal after distributing social security pensions, Naidu said the Sanjeevani system would create and maintain digital health records for citizens, and also focus on preventive, predictive and curative healthcare.
He said the programme would utilise technology, including Artificial Intelligence-based tools, to assist in health assessment and provide medical guidance.
The digital health records would help doctors access a patient's medical history and facilitate treatment, he said.
The Chief Minister said the government was working to strengthen public education and healthcare services and urged parents to enrol their children in government schools, citing the reforms introduced in the education sector.
Naidu said the state government is pursuing balanced regional development and identified three development regions — the Visakhapatnam region covering Srikakulam to the erstwhile East Godavari district; the Amaravati region covering West Godavari to Prakasam; and the Tirupati region covering Rayalaseema.
He said that national highways and roads are being developed across the state. Four lane, six lane, eight lane and even 14 lane roads would be developed, if necessary. Officials must take steps to ensure there are no sink-pits on the roads.
Naidu said infrastructure development, including expansion of NH and major roads, was being taken up across the state. Referring to water management, he said reservoir storage levels remained satisfactory despite concerns over rainfall during the year and that irrigation water had been released to canals in advance.
Naidu expressed confidence that the Polavaram Project would be completed before the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027. The left canal would be completed and water released by July.
The CM said the government was creating employment opportunities to reduce migration of youth in search of jobs. He referred to proposed investments in green ammonia and green hydrogen projects in Kakinada and the planned steel project by ArcelorMittal in Anakapalli.
Naidu also welcomed the operationalisation of the South Coast Railway Zone from June 1 and said it would benefit the state's development.
Referring to women's representation, he said 33 per cent reservation for women would be implemented in future assembly and parliament elections in AP.
Municipal administration minister P. Narayana, Rajya Sabha member Sana Satish, Kakinada MP Uday Srinivas, Tuni MLA Yanamala Divya, district collector Prasad and other public representatives attended the programme.
