Akasa Air’s decision to launch direct flights between New Delhi and Bhogapuram Airport from October 25: Reports
VISAKHAPATNAM: Union civil aviation minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has welcomed Akasa Air’s decision to launch direct flights between New Delhi and Bhogapuram Airport from October 25.
He said the service would improve travel convenience for people in North Andhra and provide passengers with more options.
According to the schedule, the flight will depart Delhi at 5.55 am and arrive at Bhogapuram at 8.20 am. The return service will leave Bhogapuram at 9.05 am and reach Delhi at 11.30 am.
Ram Mohan Naidu said stronger connectivity between Bhogapuram Airport and major cities would boost aviation, tourism, trade and employment in the North Andhra region. He added that better air links would support economic growth and attract investment.
He also welcomed Akasa Air’s return to the Visakhapatnam region after a three-year gap, describing it as a positive development for passengers and the aviation sector.
Reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to regional connectivity, he said the government was focused on connecting North Andhra with different parts of the country through the development of Bhogapuram Airport. Efforts were also under way to add more flights and destinations in response to passenger demand.
