Local Body Elections In October, Says Lokesh
Lokesh accused the YSRC of attempting to delay the elections and said such efforts would not succeed.
Vijayawada:Education minister Nara Lokesh has said the government is fully prepared to face the local body elections and that the polls would be held in October.
Addressing a meeting with ministers on Wednesday, Lokesh urged leaders to work hard for victory of alliance candidates. He dismissed speculation that the elections might not be held and said pending court matters would also be resolved to facilitate the process.
Lokesh accused the YSRC of attempting to delay the elections and said such efforts would not succeed. He said seat-sharing among alliance partners would be decided by the coordination committee and the party high command.
On the education sector, Lokesh condemned the alleged attacks on teachers and warned of action against the errant. He alleged that those involved in the incidents at the SAAP office had left after police registered cases.
Lokesh also alleged that the opposition was resorting to false propaganda against the DSC recruitment process. He said the recruitment process had benefited unemployed youth.
On rain, Lokesh said the widespread showers across the state would help replenish the water storage in reservoirs. He directed ministers to ensure that people did not face difficulties due to flooding and asked public representatives to coordinate with officials to address problems faced by citizens.
