Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) chairperson Dr. M. Angamuthu inaugurated on Monday the newly developed Port Horizon Promenade near the Cruise Terminal, taking a significant step towards promoting coastal tourism and the waterfront experience in the city.

The project has been developed as part of VPA’s broader initiative to improve tourism infrastructure, create attractive public spaces, and strengthen community engagement along the coastline.

Designed as a modern pedestrian-friendly recreational destination, the promenade offers visitors scenic views of the harbour, ship movements, and port operations in a safe and enjoyable environment. The facility is expected to become a major attraction for residents, tourists, families, and cruise visitors.

The newly developed promenade includes a recreational park with landscaped green spaces, children’s play area, public plaza for leisure activities, food court for visitors and families, and a wide parking area for public convenience.

The project has been developed with emphasis on environmental sustainability and urban aesthetics. Eco-friendly design elements have been incorporated to improve the surrounding environment and create a pleasant public space for recreation and relaxation.

VPA officials said the promenade will be opened to the public soon.
