PPA CEO Calls for Stockpiling Materials to Keep Polavaram Works Uninterrupted
Polavaram Project Authority CEO Sanjeev Vohra directed officials to keep adequate stocks of soil, rock, sand, cement and other construction materials to ensure uninterrupted works at the Polavaram project during the prevailing dry spell.
Vijayawada: Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) chief executive officer Sanjeev Vohra directed officials to keep adequate stocks of soil, rock, sand, cement and other construction materials to ensure uninterrupted works at the Polavaram project during the prevailing dry spell.
Vohra inspected ongoing works at Gap-1, Gap-2, G-Hill and G-Dash Hill and asked water resources department officials and contracting agencies to maintain the pace of work and complete the project as scheduled while ensuring quality.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress and quality of the earth-cum-rock-fill dam.
He said there was no shortage of funds for the project as the Centre was releasing funds in phases.
He noted that both the Central and State governments were committed to completing the project by the end of March 2027.
Vohra directed officials to complete the planned works ahead of a visit by foreign experts later this month.
He was accompanied by PPA chief engineer Ramesh Kumar, AP water resources department Polavaram project superintending engineer P. Ramachandra Rao and others.
