PMAY: 5 Lakh Houses Sanctioned To Telugu States

Union minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar announced that additional houses were allocated for both the Telugu states under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Of the total two crore houses,

AP and Telangana were allocated 5 lakh houses. Of this, AP got 3 lakh and Telangana 2 lakh, he said. Pemmasani thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan on the occasion.

The Union Minister said the Centre allocated Rs 1.75 lakh for construction of each house. He criticized the YSRC government for failing to complete construction of houses sanctioned under the PMAY scheme. The central government sanctioned 1.76 lakh houses under Jagan's rule but construction of only 42,000 houses was completed.
