Calls for Stronger Coordination among Govt. Departments to Boost Public Outreach & Counter Misinformation
VIJAYAWADA: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Vijayawada, on Friday called for stronger coordination among the publicity wings of Central government departments to improve public outreach, promote flagship schemes and counter misinformation.
The appeal was made at a meeting of the Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) convened by PIB Vijayawada to strengthen inter-departmental coordination and enhance government communication strategies.
In his welcome address, PIB Vijayawada director G. Suresh Kumar highlighted the role of media units under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, including the Press Information Bureau, Central Bureau of Communication, Doordarshan and All India Radio.
He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts to ensure the effective dissemination of information on Central government programmes and initiatives, and assured full support from the Ministry's media units.
The meeting was attended by representatives of more than 15 Central government departments and organisations, including the Department of Posts, Railways, AIIMS, NHAI, FCI, KVIC, NSO, School of Planning and Architecture, Airports Authority of India, Bureau of Indian Standards, Doordarshan and Akashvani.
Participants reviewed ongoing publicity initiatives, shared updates on departmental activities and achievements, and suggested measures to make government communication more effective, coordinated and accessible to the public.
