CM Seeks Stringent Action in Medico Accident Case

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed officials to take stringent action against those responsible for the Rajamahendravaram road accident in which two medical students were seriously injured after allegedly being hit by a car driven by an intoxicated person.
The Chief Minister expressed concern over the condition of the injured students, Priyanka and Umesh, and sought a detailed report on the incident. Officials informed him that the two were allegedly knocked down by a car driven under the influence of alcohol and that the vehicle fled the scene after the accident.
Naidu was informed that those allegedly responsible had been arrested. He directed officials to ensure that the accused faced stringent punishment and made it clear that no one found guilty should be spared.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to closely monitor Priyanka's condition and ensure that both injured students received the best possible medical treatment. He described the incident as distressing and stressed the need for strict enforcement against drunken driving.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also expressed concern over the incident. Speaking to the Eluru Range DIG, he directed officials to treat the case seriously and ensure stringent action against those responsible.
He also enquired about the health condition of Priyanka and Umesh.
The incident has renewed concerns over drunken driving and road safety, with both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister calling for strict enforcement of the law against offenders.
