PGRS Drive Receives 61 Petitions in Vijayawada
The collector directed officials to examine every representation thoroughly and ensure disposal within the stipulated time
VIJAYAWADA: A total of 61 petitions were received during the district-level Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) programme held at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan in Machavaram under the Vijayawada East Assembly constituency on Friday, with district officials assuring time-bound disposal of public grievances.
Participating in the programme, NTR district collector Dr G. Lakshmisha and Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao said the initiative was helping resolve long-pending public issues through constituency-level grievance redressal.
The programme, organised under the 'One Month-One Constituency-Four Visits' initiative, was attended by joint collector S. Ilakkiya and officials from various departments. The petitions related to revenue services, welfare schemes, employment, police and other civic issues. The collector directed officials to examine every representation thoroughly and ensure disposal within the stipulated time.
Ramamohan Rao said the first grievance programme in the constituency, held last week at Auto Nagar, had helped resolve several pending issues. He said the district administration's intervention had brought relief to hundreds of families by addressing the long-pending superstructure issue. The MLA also said efforts were under way to resolve the nearly 80-acre land dispute recorded under the Machavaram Jagirdar category in the 22A prohibited properties list.
Lakshmisha said similar grievance programmes had already been conducted in the Mylavaram and Tiruvuru Assembly constituencies before being extended to Vijayawada East. He said constituency-level grievance redressal saves people time and travel costs while enabling faster resolution of issues. He added that officials were committed to ensuring the timely and satisfactory disposal of petitions.
PGRS nodal officer G. Jyothi and officials from various departments were present.
