Andhra Pradesh: Teen’s X Post On Alleged Harassment Leads To Auto Driver's Detention In Vizag

In a video shared on X, the teenager, speaking in Hindi, alleged that the driver offered her money in exchange for a sexual favour. She said she initially failed to understand what he meant, but the driver allegedly stopped the autorickshaw midway and repeated the offer. The girl said she asked him to drop her at her destination first.

After dropping her, the driver reportedly sped away after noticing that she was recording him. However, the girl managed to capture his face on video. In the video, she appealed to the public to help identify the driver, stating that such incidents should not be allowed to happen in the city. “How can someone make such an offer so openly?” she asked, urging people to trace the driver so that he could be handed over to the police.

Acting swiftly on the viral post, the Visakhapatnam city police traced and took the autorickshaw driver into custody. Pendurti police said a case was being registered and an FIR was being filed. However, officials did not disclose the identity of the accused, citing the ongoing investigation.
