Parvathipuram: Married Woman Dies By Suicide In Peddagadda Reservoir
Following the information, Parvathipuram Town Police Station reached the spot, and special teams carried out a search in the reservoir for Nandini.
Parvathipuram-Manyam: A 26-year-old married woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Pedda Gedda reservoir near Kesali village in Pachipenta Mandal after calling and informing her husband. and telling him that she was taking the drastic step
As per reports, the woman has been identified as Nandini, who hailed from Koona Bandavalasa village, fell in love with Terlingi Satish from Viswanathapuram village, and has been married for ten years. The couple has two sons. Nandini works as a security guard at the P. Konavalasa Tribal Girls College, and Satish was an autorickshaw driver. According to family members, Satish was addicted to alcohol and often used to quarrel with his wife.
On Thursday afternoon, Nandini completed her duties and came to the Pedda Gedda reservoir. She called her husband and told him where she was and that she was going to die. Shocked at the call, the husband begged her not to and immediately rushed to the Pedda Gedda reservoir. Even as he tried to stop her, Nandini jumped into the water right in front of his eyes.
Following information, Parvathipuram Town Police Station reached the spot, and special teams carried out a search in the reservoir for Nandini. SI Arjuna said that despite the search continuing till late evening, there was no trace of her.
Based on a complaint given by her brother and parents, police said Nandini allegedly jumped into the reservoir due to harassment by her husband. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway, the SI added. Meanwhile, the search is on for tracing the victim's body.
