Nellore: The Parents Association of Andhra Pradesh (PAAP) urged the state government to crack down on corporate and private educational institutions allegedly violating G.O. Ms No. 9 by publishing marks, ranks and student photographs in their advertisements.

In an open letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and education department officials, PAAP leaders Narahari Sikharam and G. Eswaraiah said institutions in cities such as Nellore, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Guntur were continuing rank-based publicity despite government regulations and Supreme Court guidelines.

The association alleged that such advertisements create mental stress and a sense of inferiority among students. It demanded removal of all rank-based hoardings within 15 days, fines of `50,000 for first-time violations and `1 lakh for repeat offences, and cancellation of recognition for persistent offenders.

PAAP also called for the immediate operationalisation of regulatory bodies such as APSCER, APHERMC and APSCHE, inclusion of parent representatives in oversight mechanisms, and the release of a white paper on education law enforcement and fee regulation in the state.
