YSRC Has no Moral Right to Comment on DSC, Says Minister Kondapalli Srinivas
The minister maintained that the recruitment process was conducted in accordance with the prescribed procedures and defended the government’s handling of the exercise
VISAKHAPATNAM: Minister for MSME and rural poverty alleviation Kondapalli Srinivas on Tuesday criticised the YSRC over its allegations regarding the Mega DSC recruitment process, stating that the party has no moral right to comment on teacher recruitment after its tenure in office.
In a statement, Srinivas said the coalition government had fulfilled its promise by issuing a Mega DSC notification for around 16,000 teacher posts soon after assuming office and completing the recruitment process. He rejected allegations of irregularities and questioned the timing of the criticism, noting that the appointments had already been completed.
The minister alleged that the previous YSRC government had failed to conduct teacher recruitment through DSC during its five-year tenure and accused it of disappointing unemployed youth by not providing adequate recruitment opportunities.
Srinivas said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has a long record of conducting DSC recruitments. He claimed that successive governments led by Naidu had conducted nine DSC examinations and filled more than two lakh teacher posts.
He further alleged that the previous government had issued a notification for about 6,000 teacher posts shortly before the 2024 elections but had not completed the process effectively.
In contrast, he said, the coalition government had made the Mega DSC one of its early decisions after assuming office and had completed the recruitment drive within a short period.
The minister maintained that the recruitment process was conducted in accordance with the prescribed procedures and defended the government’s handling of the exercise.
