Palle Veeekshana Taking Welfare To Doorsteps In Every Village Of Nellore District

NELLORE: Nellore district administration is continuing to roll out its weekly village outreach initiative “Palle Veeekshana,” taking government services to the grassroots, monitoring welfare and development programmes, and resolving public grievances on a regular basis.
Nellore district collector Himanshu Shukla had launched the Palle Veeekshana in April this year. Since then, the initiative is being taken up every week in villages to directly assess ground realities through interactions with villagers.
Participating in the programme at Maktapuram village in Sangam mandal on Thursday, the collector reiterated that Palle Veeekshana is aimed at understanding villagers' problems and finding solutions immediately.
Responding to Maktapuram farmers' demand for a paddy storage facility, Himanshu Shukla allocated land for an agricultural godown and directed officials to submit proposals for its construction. He sanctioned land for a cremation ground following another request from villagers.
The collector announced that new pensions have been sanctioned to 10 beneficiaries. He directed APSRTC officials to start operating two bus trips to Maktapuram within 10 days. He said steps are being taken to establish a new bus stand at Sangam after identifying suitable land.
As part of the Palle Veeekshana programme, Himanshu Shukla inspected MGNREGS works, the village waste-to-wealth centre, chickpea fields, and the Anganwadi centre. He interacted with workers, farmers, and children, in addition to reviewing the implementation of welfare and development programmes.
The collector assured that issues that could be resolved immediately would be addressed on the spot, while other grievances would be taken up within the specified timelines.
