Nurses Society’s Invisible Strength: Governor
He was the chief guest at a convocation of Mahila Dakshata Samithi (MDS) Educational Institutions held at its Gangaram campus

Hyderabad, July 25: “Nurses are the invisible strength of society and their education bestows them both responsibility and a mission to serve humanity,” said Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. He was the chief guest at a convocation of Mahila Dakshata Samithi (MDS) Educational Institutions held at its Gangaram campus in Chandanagar on Friday. A total of 50 students graduated as part of the fourth BSc Nursing batch from the college.
Students and faculty from other MDS institutions, including Suman Junior College for Girls and V.D. Bajaj Degree College for Women, also took part in the ceremony.
In her welcome address, MDS president Dr Saroj Bajaj said that since 1991, the institution has helped over 10,000 women — many from underprivileged backgrounds—build careers in healthcare, finance and technology. She also highlighted ongoing projects, including the Nirmala Goenka Girls' Hostel and Auditorium, a 1.15 lakh sq. ft. facility.
Among the dignitaries present were Abhilasha Bisht, director, RGVRR Telangana State Police Academy; Mantena Venkata Rama Raju, CMD, Vasudha Pharma Chem Ltd; and Dr Mahesh Tapadia, MD, Tapadia Diagnostics. Dr Tapadia announced free thalassemia testing for all MDS students. Over 1,000 people, including trustees, corporate supporters and donors, attended the event.
