Amaravati: Security, support for every family and opportunities for every region—this approach shaped an intensive week long activity in Andhra Pradesh, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu participating in nine priority programmes. Building on two years of efforts to restore administrative systems and advance the State’s reconstruction, the government has taken further steps to address immediate needs while creating opportunities for the future. From pensions and permanent house-site titles to rural roads, drinking water, horticulture and advanced technology, the week’s programmes brought together the government’s priorities of welfare, development and good governance.

With support from the Union government and coordination with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, the Chief Minister launched major initiatives intended to improve living standards and strengthen the foundations of long-term growth.

The Chief Minister participated in the 28th round of pension distribution under the NTR Bharosa scheme. The government has disbursed ₹76,000 crore towards pensions so far, providing vital support to elderly people, persons with disabilities and other eligible beneficiaries. Through Pedala Sevalo, the Chief Minister also met beneficiaries directly, understands their circumstances and received firsthand feedback on the delivery of government programmes.Alongside this financial support, the government’s Pedalaku Pattabhishekam initiative provides permanent house-site titles to eligible poor families who have lived on government land for decades while awaiting legal ownership. In Vijayawada and surrounding constituencies, 26,401 families received titles to properties with a government-assessed value of ₹11,246 crore and an estimated market value of ₹28,118 crore. In Visakhapatnam, titles were distributed to 28,445 families, covering properties valued at ₹8,874 crore by the government and approximately ₹22,185 crore at market rates. In Mangalagiri, 5,800 beneficiaries received titles in three phases. These properties have a government-assessed value of ₹727 crore and an estimated market value of ₹1,706 crore.Across the three areas, 60,646 beneficiaries have received titles to properties with a combined estimated market value of around ₹52,000 crore. The government issued special orders to facilitate the initiative. For these families, a title provides confidence in their right to remain in their homes and the stability to plan ahead. While a pension supports today’s needs, ownership lays a foundation for tomorrow’s security.

As part of its goal to provide a home to every eligible family by 2029, the government laid foundation for three lakh houses under PMAY–Gramin 2.0.Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu participated in the programme at Tenali alongside Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He also requested the Centre to sanction another six lakh houses. The programme marks a further step towards the State’s target of constructing 19 lakh houses and ensuring that every eligible family has a home by 2029.

Palle Panduga 3.0: Strengthening Village Infrastructure: The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who also holds the Panchayat Raj portfolio, launched the ₹11,085-crore Palle Panduga 3.0 programme at Udayagiri. The programme includes 15,500 kilometres of bituminous and cement concrete roads, 22,000 mini cattle shelters, the Haritha Gopalam initiative to address fodder shortages, 1,000 kilometres of “magic drains”, bus shelters, gram panchayat buildings and support for horticulture cultivation. These investments have a direct bearing on everyday life and rural livelihoods. Better roads bring markets closer to farmers, ease students’ journeys to school and help patients reach hospitals. Cattle shelters and fodder development support dairy farmers, while improved infrastructure strengthens local economic activity.Palle Panduga 3.0 places these interconnected needs at the centre of a large-scale rural development programme.

The government has launched works worth ₹30,156 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, named Amarajeevi Jaladhara, with the aim of providing new household tap connections to another 27 lakh rural families.According to the government, the previous administration weakened the implementation of Central schemes, including Jal Jeevan Mission, limiting works in Andhra Pradesh to ₹2,600 crore while other States undertook substantially larger programmes. The renewed initiative seeks to bring safe drinking water to the doorstep. By reducing the time and effort spent collecting water, it can ease a major household burden, particularly for women.

Global Horticulture Hub: A New Growth Path for Rayalaseema: A year of preparatory efforts culminated in the launch of the Global Horticulture Hub, a major initiative intended to transform Rayalaseema’s agricultural economy. At Madanapalle, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman joined Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to launch the programme. Its central objectives are to develop Rayalaseema into the “Fruit Bowl of the World”, overcome drought-related challenges, create more stable farm returns and raise per capita income.Under the ₹1 lakh crore plan, the government proposes to mobilise ₹40,000 crore with Central support and another ₹60,000 crore through private investment. Sector-wise allocations include ₹20,884 crore for irrigation, ₹14,906 crore for horticulture and ₹4,562 crore for rural road expansion. The programme will cover ten districts—eight in Rayalaseema and two within the erstwhile Prakasam district area—encompassing 201 horticulture clusters, 303 mandals and 5,869 villages. The plan aims to expand horticulture cultivation by approximately six lakh hectares, taking the total area to 14.41 lakh hectares. Government projections envisage direct benefits for 9.6 lakh farmers, livelihood and employment opportunities for 49 lakh families, and annual gross value added of approximately ₹81,000 crore from the associated economic activities. The foundation stone was also laid for the Indian School of Agriculture (ISA), with support from Reliance. The institution is intended to advance knowledge, research and value-chain development in agriculture and allied sectors.

Connecting farmers and farmer producer organisations with corporate markets, improving access to remunerative prices and linking irrigation, cultivation, transport and marketing are central to the initiative. Together, these measures seek to secure better returns for farmers’ work and strengthen rural incomes.

Building Administrative Skills for Better Public Service: Effective implementation requires a capable administrative system. Through the iGOT–Karmayogi programme, the government has emphasised training to improve employees’ administrative skills, problem-solving abilities and quality of service.

Recognising Cleanliness and Community Participation: On Gandhi Jayanti, the Swachh Andhra–2026 awards recognised achievements in cleanliness, with 91 State-level awards across 22 categories and 1,906 district-level awards. The initiative encourages local bodies and communities to make cleanliness a sustained practice. Clean villages and towns are integral to the Swarna Andhra vision, contributing to public health, better living conditions and overall quality of life.

The declaration includes a ₹500-crore venture fund and a “lab-to-market” approach to connect academic research with industry and investors, helping turn discoveries into commercial products. The Chief Minister also outlined plans to develop complete quantum technology systems and manufacturing capabilities in Amaravati. He announced that quantum computer operations were planned to begin in February 2027.These initiatives seek to position Andhra Pradesh as an international centre for knowledge and technology while creating new pathways for investment and skilled employment.Towards a Healthy, Wealthy and Happy Andhra PradeshThe week’s programmes reflect a connected approach to governance: pensions for immediate support, titles for property security, houses and infrastructure for better living conditions, horticulture for higher incomes, and training and innovation for improved services and future opportunities.Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said the goals of welfare, development and good governance would find their fullest meaning when every family could live with greater security, dignity and income. His stated vision of a “Healthy, Wealthy and Happy Andhra Pradesh” runs through these initiatives linking the needs of families today with the opportunities the State seeks to create for tomorrow.
