NHAI Sanctions Rs 14-Crore Road Project for Buchireddypalem

Nellore: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has sanctioned a Rs 14-crore road infrastructure project on National Highway-67 at Buchireddypalem municipality in Kovur Assembly constituency.

The approval follows a representation submitted by Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy seeking measures to ease traffic congestion and reduce accidents in the rapidly growing town.

In a letter to the MP, NHAI chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said the project includes laying load-bearing paver blocks, constructing cement concrete drains and shifting electrical lines along the stretch between km 722.330 and km 724.800.

According to the NHAI, the works are expected to address long-standing issues arising from inadequate parking facilities, the absence of footpaths and traffic bottlenecks on the highway.

Prabhakar Reddy and Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy thanked the NHAI chairman for approving the project, stating that it would provide relief to motorists, traders and residents of Buchireddypalem.
