New Facilities Boost Rayanapadu Wagon Workshop

VIJAYAWADA: South Coast Railway (SCoR) General Manager Sandeep Mathur inspected the Rayanapadu Wagon Workshop and reviewed its maintenance, modernisation and infrastructure augmentation works.
Mathur, accompanied by senior railway officials, inspected maintenance bays, Periodic Overhaul (POH) lines, assembly sections and wheel and bogie shops. He reviewed safety measures, quality standards, turnaround schedules and productivity.
He also reviewed plans to augment rolling stock overhaul capacity and commissioned two facilities — the Cartridge Tapered Roller Bearing (CTRB) Overhauling Section and a CNC Air Plasma Cutting Machine.
The facilities are expected to improve maintenance efficiency and wagon overhaul capacity.
As part of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada’, Mathur and senior officials also participated in a plantation drive on the workshop premises.
