NELLORE: SPSR Nellore district superintendent of police Dr Ajitha Vejendla on Tuesday reviewed security and traffic management arrangements for the forthcoming Bara Shaheed Dargah Rottela Panduga, which attracts large numbers of devotees from across the state.

At a review meeting held at the district police office, the SP directed officials to ensure comprehensive security, effective crowd management and smooth traffic movement during the festival.

Additional SP (administration) Ch. Soujanya briefed the SP on personnel deployment and responsibilities assigned to various teams.

Nellore Town ASP Deeksha and other police officials presented sector-wise security plans, while Rural DSP Ghattamaneni Srinivasa Rao outlined bandobust arrangements for Kasumuru Dargah, Indukurupeta and beach areas under the Krishnapatnam limits.

Traffic police officials explained the traffic management plan, including parking arrangements, diversion routes, installation of signboards and coordination with APSRTC services.

The SP instructed officials to maintain round-the-clock surveillance through CCTV cameras, drones and the command-and-control system. Quick Response Teams, Bomb Disposal Squads and dog squads will also be deployed during the festival.

Special attention will be given to the safety and assistance of children, senior citizens and devotees with special needs. Life-saving equipment will be positioned at ghat and boating points, while accommodation and food facilities will be arranged for police personnel on duty.

Dr Ajitha Vejendla emphasised the need for coordinated action among all departments to ensure the festival is conducted peacefully and without inconvenience to devotees.
