Nellore: Two Held With 2.35 Kg Ganja In Prakasam District

NELLORE: Kandukur police arrested two persons in separate cases and seized 2.35 kg of ganja allegedly being transported and sold in Prakasam district.
The accused were identified as Katthula Kishore, 37, of Bandapalem in Kandukur and Kamanchi Rajesh alias Raju, 24, of Gudluru village. Police seized 1.1 kg of ganja from Kishore and 1.25 kg from Rajesh.
According to police, Kishore had allegedly procured ganja from a supplier in Gudluru and was selling it in small packets in Kandukur.
During further investigation, Rajesh was apprehended near Palukuru Junction Road. Police said he allegedly confessed to procuring ganja from areas along the Odisha border, Visakhapatnam and Rayagada and supplying it in Gudluru and Kandukur.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Prakasam Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju as part of the district-wide drive against narcotic substances.
Police said further investigation is under way to identify others allegedly involved in the supply network. The seized ganja has been sent for forensic examination through due legal process.
Commending the police team, the SP warned that stringent action would be taken against those involved in the manufacture, transportation, storage, sale or consumption of narcotic substances.
